My Story
When I moved to San Diego in 2017, one of my first evenings here was an Indian cultural festival at the Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park. I fell in love with the city that night.
There was one gap: anyone who wanted a Bollywood night had to call a DJ from LA. A friend said, “Why don’t you become one?” The idea stayed with me.
Today I’m the exclusive DJ for the Festival of Lights at that same Organ Pavilion.
In one of the hardest seasons of my life, I followed an inner voice back to music, and the path opened in front of me.
Why “Anjna”?
I’m Deepti Alampally. My mom has always called me Anjana, and it’s the name closest to my heart. So I became DJ Anjna, with one less “a.”

The insight
As a senior product manager, I learned to understand people deeply: who they are, what they need, what’s missing. Now I bring that to every celebration. I learn who’s in your room, from grandparents to college friends, and design music for every one of them.
The languages
Fluent in Hindi, Telugu and English, so I know the lyrics, the rituals.
